Man jailed for drug offences

A 31 year-old man who admitted possessing cocaine and cannabis resin has been jailed for a total of eight months.

Sean Robert Milligan of Queen's Road, Onchan appeared before High Bailiff Michael Moyle for sentence.

The defendant was arrested on November 30, at his home, where police found a trace of cocaine and seven ounces of cannabis resin.

His advocate said he had sold his car to buy a block of cannabis which was solely for his own use.

Mr Moyle said the defendant had been jailed for 20 months in 2006, which meant he was in breach of his prison expiry date.

He imposed a four month sentence for the possession of cocaine and 30 days for the cannabis offece.

He also ordered Milligan to serve four months of the six months licence period, to run consecutive to the other sentences.
