Sir Norman in BBC documentary

by isleofman.com 17th January 2008
Comedian and long-time Isle of Man resident Sir Norman Wisdom featured on a BBC2 documentary called 'Wonderland' last night.

The fly-on-the-wall film called 'The Secret Life of Norman Wisdom Aged 92 and three quarters' followed Sir Norman's family as they struggle to deal with his vascular dementia.

The family was heavily criticised after it was reported friends of the comic had been banned from visiting him at the Abbotswood nursing home in Ballasalla.

But his family is adamant they were only taking professional advice.

The film crew began shooting around six months before Sir Norman was admitted in July 2007, when his daughter-in-law Kim, shared caring for him at his home in Andreas.

His son and daughter Nick and Jackie were also seen struggling to look after him at home in Sussex.
