Earnshaw answers Tynwald T.T. questions

by isleofman.com 15th January 2008
Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw faced some intense questioning about T.T. 2008 in Tynwald this lunchtime.

The main inquisitor was Alex Downie. Mr Earnshaw confirmed there will be a themed parade included in the race programme.

When asked about why regulations had not yet been made available when they are normally released in November, he explained that due to ACU Events Limited taking over from the Manx Motorcycle Club, there had been a delay. He hoped the regulations would be out very shortly.

On the subject of rumoured problems in relations with Honda, Mr Earnshaw was at a loss to explain why these rumours were circulating. Neither he or his officials had received any complaints from the Japanese manufacturer.

He confirmed that HM Plant Honda would not be racing at TT 2008, but Hydrex Honda will be receiving full factory representation for their rider Guy Martin and another major name.

On the subject of proposed changes to the long-standing arrangement for Honda to supply the bikes for the T.T. Travelling Marshals, Mr Earnshaw confirmed this verbal agreement would change from 2009.

Here's an example of one of the late exchanges in a 20 minute period during today's Tynwald Questions. Peel MHK Tim Crookall is the questioner:-
