Langness motion before Tynwald

by isleofman.com 15th January 2008
Plans to hold a public inquiry into footpath access on Langness peninsula will go before Tynwald today.

Transport Minister David Anderson last month withdrew the item to allow talks between the landowner of the site, TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, and pressure group PRoWL.

PRoWL has been in disagreement with Mr Clarkson after he re-routed a footpath around his home, to protect his privacy.

Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen has tried to arrange a meeting between Mr Clarkson, PRoWL and the department to ease the stand-off.

However, the motion is due to go before Tynwald with Rushen MHK Juan Watterson expected to put forward an amendment calling for the inquiry to perform a fuller job.
