Hospice garden opened

by isleofman.com 14th January 2008
What's being described as the icing on the cake at the Island's new Hospice - the garden - has been officially opened.

Designer and TV presenter Diarmuid Gavin carried out the honours at a ceremony watched by the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Haddacks.

The 'People's Garden' as it's been named, was not ready when the Hospice held its open days last October, when more than 3,000 visitors looked round the new building.

Hospice staff and fund raisers are looking forward to a busy 2008 which will see several major events to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of Hospice Care.

The Hospice needs to raise ?2.5 million each year to meet its running costs.
