Indecent assault case begins

by isleofman.com 14th January 2008
A man facing 13 counts of indecent assault on a child has appeared in court at Douglas.

The serious sexual offences were allegedly committed over a period of four years, in the early to mid-1980s.

The allegations are divided into four sets of three specimen charges, with each set covering a twelve month period, and one charge relating to a specific incident.

The defendant has pleaded not guilty on all counts.

The trial, which is being held before a jury, is expected to last all week and reporting restrictions are in force.
