Call to extend ProTours contract

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell is hoping Tynwald will support her attempts to save a transport service for disabled youngsters.

The DHSS won't be renewing a contract with the local firm ProTours to take the children to day care, saying the service is too expensive.

Mrs Cannell has tabled an emergency motion for tomorrow's sitting of Tynwald, calling for the service to be maintained while an investigation is carried out.

She says after speaking to the service users, it’s easy to see why they are so attached to it:
