Let's resolve this mess!

by isleofman.com 12th January 2008
An MHK is calling for a quick resolution to the Middle River civic amenity site wrangle.

The Pulrose site was closed on Friday and isn’t expected to re-open until the early part of next week.

Owners, the Department of Local Government, recently awarded the tender to run the facility to Douglas Corporation but current operators Tel’s Skips insists it still has a valid contract.

Onchan member David Quirk says no-one, not least the public, is benefiting from its closure (audio file attached):.

The Island’s three other civic amenity sites, in Bride, Port St Mary and St John’s are open over the weekend, although eastern residents are being asked to only use them if they have to.
