Smoking restrictions come in soon

by isleofman.com 11th January 2008
Public houses and restaurants in the Isle of Man are preparing for a new 'smoke free' era.

The Island will catch up with Scotland, Wales and England when legislation prohibiting smoking in public places is introduced at 4am on March 30.

Food Safety Manager Ivan Bratty (pictured) from the Smoke Free Mann campaign says some premises have already provided outside areas for smokers, and other planning applications to do the same have been submitted.

However, even these areas will have to comply with regulations (audio file attached):

Ivan Bratty was speaking to John Hines on Talking Heads.
