Castletown planning meeting

The first steps towards forming an area plan for the south of the Island begin this evening.

A presentation is taking place at Rushen Primary School for southern MHKs and commissioners, chaired by Local Government Minister John Shimmin.

The eventual plan will encompass Castletown, Arbory, Malew, Port Erin, Port St Mary and Rushen.

Long-serving Castletown commissioner Colin Leather says it’s not yet known whether the town will benefit, and there could be a sting in the tail:
