MHK to move Langness amendment

A Rushen MHK is hoping Tynwald members will vote to take a broader view of the status of a number of footpaths around the Langness peninsula.

The Department of Transport has tabled a motion calling for an inquiry into the matter, after a long-running battle between landowner Jeremy Clarkson and ramblers.

Juan Watterson, MHK, says the original motion focuses on a certain footpath, but his amendment includes other paths that criss-cross the main route.

He wants the proposed public inquiry to perform a fuller job (audio file attached):
