Care home concerns motion for Tynwald

Liberal Vannin leader Peter Karran wants the government to make long-term plans to provide residential and nursing home care.

He says the present administration lacks clear direction and, in Tynwald later this month, he will ask DHSS Minister Eddie Teare to produce a report outlining what retirement planning the department has done.

In particular, he wants to know what the DHSS has done since 2004 to help pensioners get places in homes.
