Diamond geezer Terry Cringle

A stalwart of Manx journalism is celebrating his 60th year in the profession.

Terry Cringle joined the Isle of Man Examiner straight from Douglas High School in January 1948, when his basic wage was twelve shillings and sixpence, or 62?p per week.

Since then he's worked for newspapers here and in the United Kingdom, in television and, of course, for Manx Radio for nearly forty years.

And despite reaching his diamond anniversary this week, Terry has no plans to retire yet:
