Flashman novelist loved the Island

Tribute has been paid to a man described as a 'champion of the Isle of Man.'

Renowned author George McDonald Fraser, who wrote all but one of the Flashman novels at his Baldrine home, died yesterday at the age of 82, after a long illness.

His friend and fellow journalist Terry Cringle says Mr Fraser (pictured) loved his adopted home:
