Respect our history!

That’s the plea from a South Douglas MHK as the bid to save an historic building in Douglas continues.

Last month, David Cretney’s colleague Bill Malarkey handed in a 1,500 strong petition to save Farmhill Manor, which was converted in the 18th century from a Manx farmhouse dating back to 1430.

Heritage Homes is attempting to have it removed from the protected buildings register in order to redevelop the site.

But Mr Cretney believes the property has to remain registered:
