College principle heads for Norfolk

by isleofman.com 2nd January 2008
The Principal of King William's College is to leave the school in the summer.

Philip John, who has been at the helm for eight years, is taking up a new position as Head of Gresham's School in Norfolk.

Mr John (pictured) is credited with bringing in a series of changes aimed at securing the future of the College.

Most notably he introduced the International Baccaluareate in place of A-levels, which led to a dramatic increase in pupil numbers, many from overseas.

He will leave the Island at the end of the current academic year. A successor has yet to be appointed.
