Trials action

There was plenty of trials action in the Isle of Man over the Christmas and New Year period.

On Saturday it was round seven of the Fun Trial series held at Stoney Mountain Quarry by Peveril MCC.

Stephen Collins won the Twinshock class with two marks dropped, ahead of Buddy Yeardsley on seven.

There was a win for Martin Harrison in the Sportsman class with David Harding Snr in second, and Barry Stephenson won the Adult Novice class from Chris Bridson in second.

Josh Brain was the Schoolboy Expert winner, just one mark down on Tom Maddrell. In the Schoolboy Inters Joe Yeardsley came out on top with Carl Owen second, and Juan Lace won the Schoolboy Novice from Matthew Corkill.

And it was the popular Pairs Trial on Sunday at West Kimmeragh held by the Ramsey Trials Club. It was won by Phil Ward and Jordan Birchall with a total of two marks lost, on countback from Sammy Ball and Paul Smith also on two marks lost.

Richard Herdman and Josh Brain were third, Neil Christian and Stuart Clague were fourth and Jonathan Notman and Karl Robinson were fifth.
