Two men charged with manslaughter following the death of a homeless man have been remanded for a further two weeks in custody by the High Bailiff.

Forty-three year-old Marcus Anthony McCormick of North View, Peel and 24 year-old Mark Anthony Quirk of Castlemona Avenue in Douglas, appeared in court on Friday.

Rosemary Burnett said a charge against both men of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Joseph McCabe has been withdrawn.

Mr McCabe sustained a serious head injury near an address in North View on August 12 and died in hospital 11 days later.

Forty one year-old Sandra Rose Quirk, also of North View, Peel, had her bail renewed to appear again on January 8 with the other two defendants.
