Coastguard praises teamwork

An Isle of Man coastguard is paying tribute to the teamwork which led to the successful rescue of a young man who was seriously injured when he fell onto rocks at Garwick Bay.

The rescue effort involved coastguards, a lifeboat, police officers, paramedics and a helicopter from RAF Valley in Angelsey.

Sector Manager South for the Isle of Man Coastguard Phil Adams (pictured) says the operation went smoothly (audio file attached):

The young man is believed to have received serious but not life threatening injuries.

The incident happened yesterday.
