A coast rescue involving Douglas Coastguard rescue team, Douglas lifeboat, an RAF rescue helicopter, paramedics and police was launched to bring him to safety.

Coastguard and paramedics stayed with the casualty until he was winched up to the rescue helicopter and taken directly to Noble's Hospital.
