Fisherman accused of supplying cannabis

A fisherman has appeared before the High Bailiff on drugs charges.

Thirty-three year old Hugh Barry Smith, of no fixed address is accused of possessing cannabis bush and resin, and possessing cannabis bush with intent to supply.

Sergeant John Manley, prosecuting, told the court Smith was arrested at a house in Ramsey on December 22.

Police found 142 grammes of cannabis bush and six grammes of resin, with a total value of ?571.

Sergeant Manley said the charges were serious and the case was likely to be heard in a higher court.
