Dead biker named

Police have now named the biker who died in an accident on Wednesday as Darren James Self of Glen Maye.

The 18 year-old died when his Suzuki Bandit was in collision with another vehicle at 5.20 pm on Wednesday on the main Douglas to Peel Road at the top of Ballahutchin Hill in Marown.

Sergeant Terry Stephen says so far, very few people have come forward with information and he’s urging people to get in touch.

In particular, officers want to speak to a woman who called police headquarters at 12.30 on Thursday afternoon.
