Cannan's IRIS investigation goes ahead

by isleofman.com 23rd December 2007
The Public Accounts Committee is to examine 'all matters relevant to the design, construction and operation of the IRIS project'

Tynwald's watchdog on public spending has confirmed the exercise will be undertaken, following a request from Michael MHK David Cannan (pictured).

The Court recently approved substantial expenditure in a number of areas, to enable work on the sewage treatment scheme to continue.

Members also agreed a change of strategy, which will see regional treatment plants built in the north and west of the Island, in addition to the main facility at Meary Veg, Santon.
