Geordies looking to pull clear

by isleofman.com 21st December 2007
With Peel and St. George's lined up for action in Boxing Day's Parkinson's Railway Cup Final at The Bowl kicking-off at 1.15pm, the two sides have contrasting build-ups to the big game this weekend.

Peel will be resting up, albeit with a spot of training, as they have a Saturday off in the Sure Mobile Premier League. St. George's have the chance to move three points clear at the top if they beat St. John's at Glencrutchery Road. Both Peel and Geordies have 33 points, but the Douglas side are in first spot on goal difference with two games in hand.

Third placed Laxey entertain Rushen at Glen Road, while fourth in the table Old Boys welcome Ramsey to Blackberry Lane.

In CFS Division Two, the only unbeaten side in Manx Football, Colby, face Ramsey Youth Centre in a top v bottom affair. 9 points behind in second are Michael who face a potentially tough home fixture against the Police. And third placed Pulrose travel to Ballasalla for an encounter with Malew, if the pitch has recovered from last weekend's drainage collapse.
