Fatal accident on Ballahutchin

A motorcyclist has died after a collision yesterday evening on the main Douglas to Peel Road.

It was at around 5.20 pm at the top of the Ballahutchin Hill, which is between Union Mills and Glen Vine.

There's an appeal for witnesses to contact police.

Two vehicles were involved - a silver Land Rover Freelander vehicle had been manoeuvring on the main road when it was in collision with a black Suzuki Bandit motorbike.

The 18 year old motorcyclist from the west of the Island, received fatal injuries as a result of the accident.

The main Douglas to Peel Road in the area of the collision was closed for some 4? hours whilst collision investigation enquiries were carried out.

Anyone who witnessed the accident, or thinks they may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the collision, are requested to contact the Road Policing Unit on 631212.
