King Dave's Christmas message

The so-called King of Mann has told Manx Radio he wants to use his status responsibly and won't tarnish the Isle of Man's international reputation.

Earlier this year, American businessman David Drew Howe claimed the ancient title after being told he was a descendent of the Stanley family, which ruled the Island under the moniker hundreds of years ago.

He's launched a charity project where people can pay tens of thousands of pounds for a noble title such as Sir or Dame, with proceeds going to AIDS organisations working in Malawi.

King David (pictured) says it's all being done with a little bit of humour and a lot of good intention:
