Life saving scheme for Ramsey

The neighbourhood first responder scheme has officially gone live in Ramsey.

Volunteers came forward for the potentially life-saving initiative earlier this year and have now completed a training period.

It means they’re on hand to respond in the event someone suffers a cardiac arrest, chest pain or unconsciousness.

The scheme is operated by St John Ambulance in partnership with ambulance trusts in the United Kingdom.

Divisional superintendent, Gary Chrtistian, says its benefits are obvious:
