Can of Coke - 99p or ?1.65?

The Office of Fair Trading is urging consumers to take note of what they're paying for soft drinks when they are out.

Although the OFT cannot control what pubs and clubs charge it can ensure prices are displayed in accordance with the law.

According to research the cost of certain drinks can vary a great deal for example, a can of diet coke was between 99p and ?1.65, and a dash of cordial went from being free - to 55p.

Chief Inspector of Trading Standards John Peet, says the OFT isn't 'getting at' the licenced trade:
