Bacchas close in on title

by isleofman.com 15th December 2007
Ramsey A’s spirited title bid was finally ended on Saturday as leaders Bacchas A moved to within one victory of the title.

A Richard Le Page hat-trick settled the top of the table encounter 3-1 in Bacchas’ favour at the expense of a Ramsey side who’ve mounted a serious championship challenge throughout the campaign.

Reigning champions Valkyrs A maintained their own title hopes by demolishing Celts 12-1.

Prolific marksmen Greg Miller and Gareth Morris hit four goals with Russell Miller notching a double and Julian Coley and Ali Carroon grabbing one apiece.

In the other games in the top-flight, Connor Burns scored twice as Phoenix A defeated Valkyrs B 7-1, while Bacchas B edged out Falcons 2-1.
