Christmas event on Saturday afternoon

There will be a real community Christmas celebration at the Sea Terminal in Douglas this weekend.

The event, between 1.30 and 5pm tomorrow, is in aid of the Children’s Hospice, the Isle of Man Children’s Centre and the Manx Association for the Welfare of Children in Hospital.

It will start with the Fire Service rescuing Santa from the top of the Sea Terminal tower, after which children will be able to visit him in his grotto.

Compares for the afternoon will be MHKs Geoff Corkish and David Quirk, and there will be be performances from various school choirs, and fire and coastguard crews.

The police specialist dog handlers and their dogs will be on hand, and there will be a charity raffle, stalls and activities.
