Speaker's sympathy over festival

One of the politicians who backed the now-cancelled Peel Bay Festival says he can understand the organiser's frustrations.

Earlier today Jonathan Irving told Manx Radio he had decided to pull the plug, after being unable to secure support from key politicians for any future event.

Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan (pictured) agrees there was a lot of negativity when his motion about the festival was debated in Tynwald on Tuesday evening.

But he still believes the festival had fantastic potential:
