Castletown traffic flow consultation

by isleofman.com 14th December 2007
Castletown Commissioners are being urged to repeat an exercise aimed at gathering public opinion on parking and traffic flow in the town square and around the Smelt.

In October, the board supported a call from commissioner Tony Mansell for ratepayers and the wider public to give their views on the issue.

Changes have been in place for a number of years but the majority of the board feels it’s still causing confusion and is time to re-assess.

Although the move prompted little response, town resident Stanley Bradbery believes the apathy could have been caused by not printing questions for ratepayers to answer on the local authority’s website.

He’s urging the board to repeat the exercise to fully gauge public opinion.

The commissioners have written to Mr Bradbery thanking him for his interest and noted the letter.
