Minister confirms police pay deal

by isleofman.com 11th December 2007
Police officers in the Isle of Man will receive a 2.5 per cent pay increase this year.

The news was confirmed by Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle (pictured) in Tynwald today.

In the United Kingdom officers are set to receive a 1.9 per cent rise after the Home Secretary refused to backdate pay to the start of September.

However, the Manx government has agreed to backdate the award, a day after the Island’s Police Federation warned officers were prepared to consider possible strike action.
