Police prepared to strike, warns Fed

The Isle of Man Police Federation says officers are prepared to fight for the right to take strike action - unless their pay awarded in funded in full.

The Manx force normally receives the awarded agreed in the United Kingdom - this year two-and-a-half per cent.

But the Home Secretary Jackie Smith is only backdating the award to December 1 - rather than September - a move the Federation claims will save the UK government ?30.

The Scottish parliament has agreed to pay the full award - and now the Island's Police Federation is calling on the Manx goverment to follow their lead.
