Central funding for Douglas scheme?

Douglas has taken a significant step forward in securing funds for a multi-million pound town centre transformation.

The Douglas Development Partnership has submitted proposals to government for a set of major improvements - to modernise and upgrade buildings, roads and public places.

The scheme is designed to make the town more attractive to residents and visitors - and ensure the Island can compete with rival jurisdictions such as Jersey.

Douglas Corporation had a big input to the report.

Leader David Christian (pictured) says the scheme needs government funding - and he's optimistic it will get a positive response:
