Emphatic win for Ramsey B

by isleofman.com 8th December 2007
Ramsey B moved to within a point of the top of the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield standings on Saturday with a 39-0 win over Western Vikings.

The game, the only one to survive the weather, was played in atrocious conditions at a very wet and windy Mooragh Park.

Ramsey took an early lead through a Craig Long try and a brace from skipper Phil Hardisty gave them a comfortable 15-0 advantage as half time approached.

Steve Brew touched down with the last play of the first half to make it 20-0 and when Long picked up his second with the opening move of the second half, it was all but over for Vikings.

Late tries from Ryan Rhodes and Tommy Callister made the result absolutely certain for Ramsey B and two conversions into the wind from Darren Ideson put the icing on the cake.
