Collection box stolen

by isleofman.com 6th December 2007
A local charity has had its fund-raising efforts blighted by thieves.

A collection box for the Manx Cancer Help Association has been taken from Corlett's Newsagents in Castletown.

It's not know how much money was stolen, but it's thought to be a substantial amount.

The charity, which is based in Braddan, has been helping patients and families in the Isle of Man who are affected by cancer for nearly 25 years.

Police says it was a 'shocking act', and are appealing to those involved to feel some remorse and come forward as soon as possible.
