More support for festival

A challenge has been thrown down to tourism and leisure chiefs, to support the Manx public by backing the Peel Bay Festival.

Castletown Commissioner Colin Leather is urging support for the event, which won’t be repeated next year after the promoter pulled the plug following government's refusal to underwrite it at a cost of up to ?250,000.

Mr Leather believes the majority of the public wants the festival to continue and says the role of the department should be examined (audio file attached):
