Auction success for DoT

An auction of old plant and machinery by the Department of Transport proved a surprise success at the weekend.

Around 300 people, twice the number expected, turned out in dreadful weather for the sell-off at Ellerslie Plant Depot in Crosby.

From diggers, compressors and road rollers to a mobile mess hut, cars and tractors the DoT shifted almost every item which went under the hammer, raising around ?132,000.
