Warning to SKY TV customers

Satellite TV customers are being warned about misleading phone calls regarding insurance for items such as Sky receiver boxes.

The Office of Fair Trading has been receiving calls in the run up to Christmas from people who have been contacted by firms telling them it's time to renew their insurance or maintenance contract for their Sky or Sky Plus boxes.

Advice Centre Manager at the OFT Pauline Wood (pictured) says the main concern is that the companies often present themselves as being from Sky when they aren't:
