Did new DHSS post affect services?

by isleofman.com 4th December 2007
An MHK wants to know if a newly created senior post at the DHSS will affect the department's ability to provide front line services.

North Douglas member Bill Henderson (pictured) claims the Deputy Chief Executive will cost more than ?80,000 a year, and wonders where the money has come from.

In the House of Keys tomorrow he will ask Health Minister Eddie Teare if the money came from the existing budget, or if additional funding was provided by the Treasury.

If the Treasury did enable the appointment to go ahead, Mr Henderson wants to know whether the expenditure took precedence over any department initiatives.
