Fire safety checks

by isleofman.com 3rd December 2007
Fire safety officers will today (Monday) begin unannounced checks on retail premises.

The visits mark the first phase of this year’s Christmas fire safety campaign to ensure fire escape routes are kept clear and staff are fully aware of fire procedures.

They're reminding retailers of their responsibilities at a time many premises have increased stock levels and increased numbers of customers.

Officers are also advising regular tests are carried out on fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
