Christmas with MNH

by isleofman.com 3rd December 2007
You can celebrate a traditional Christmas at the House of Manannan in Peel this weekend.

On Saturday, Manx National Heritage is holding a day of traditional Christmas crafts and celebrations when visitors can participate in a variety of festive activities including making traditional Christmas tree decorations, hand crafting Christmas cards and weaving seasonal decorations using locally grown willow.

In addition, there will be a fascinating look at how Christmas was celebrated in the past, together with images of Peel in yesteryear, with a Magic Lantern show at 2pm from Jack Kaighin, who is a member of the Friends of Manx National Heritage.

Acapella choir Caarjyn Cooidjagh will be singing around the Christmas tree at 3pm, and Father Christmas will be visiting the House of Manannan between 10am and 12 noon and from 2pm to 4pm.
