MHK to ask about ProTours contract

by isleofman.com 30th November 2007
The decision by the DHSS not to renew a contract with local firm ProTours, to take people
with learning disabilities to their day care centres, will come under the spotlight in the House of Keys next week.

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell (pictured) will ask Health Minister Eddie Teare if he consulted with users of the service and their families before taking the decision.

It's currently costing the DHSS ?160,000 a year and last week Director of Social Services Andrew Swithinbank said there could be a better way of achieving the same results at a lower cost.
