Proposed inquiry welcomed

by isleofman.com 29th November 2007
The pressure group which is fighting to have footpaths at Langness restored to public use is welcoming the proposed public inquiry into the issue, which will be the subject of a motion in Tynwald next month.

PROWL, or Public Rights Of Way around Langness, is in a long-running dispute with television presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who re-routed a footpath which went around his home, to protect his privacy.

PROWL spokesman Ian Costain believes a public inquiry would be the best way forward (audio file attached):

Transport Minister David Anderson will ask Tynwald to support a motion which would enable a public inquiry to go ahead.
