Milk price rise not enough

The three pence a pint increase in the cost of a pint of milk is insufficient to prevent more of the Island's dairy farmers going to the wall.

That's the view of the Manx National Farmers Union, which says the increase, the first in three years, is simply not enough.

The MNFU says milk production costs have risen by ten per cent per year, way in excess of the latest price rise, which will come into effect on January 1.
