Big prize for Centenary TT

by isleofman.com 26th November 2007
The Centenary TT, the biggest organised event in the Island's history, has taken top honours in the second annual tourism awards.

Ramsey rider Connor Cummins accepted the award for Best Event at a presentation in the Villa Marina at lunchtime today.

And there were plaudits for excellence across the board elsewhere.

The Sefton in Douglas was named Best Big Hotel, while the honour for Best Restaurant went to the Horizon in Port St Mary.

The proprietor of Laxey campsite, John Bate, won the accolade for the Best Customer Service from an Individual.

Director of Tourism Geoff Le Page (pictured) says the event aims to encourage all in the industry to offer the highest standards (audio file attached):

Aaron House and Dreem Ard shared the Best Small Hotel award; Stansfield House was the Best Self-Catering Establishment; and the House of Mannanan took the prize for Best Tourist Attraction.
