Charity hits ?1 million mark

The manager for Save the Children in the Isle of Man is thanking the local volunteers who have helped the charity raise ?1 million in the Island since the start of the new millennium.

A reception party was held for staff at the organisation's shops in Douglas, Port Erin and Ramsey as well as those at the Douglas branch.

The money has made a big difference to children throughout the world, including those at four new schools built in Sri Lanka.

Charity Manager for Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man Elizabeth Munnis has no doubt about the secret behind the Island’s fundraising success:
