The future of the Bradda Glen restaurant looks to have been secured, after Port Erin Commissioners agreed to sell the facility to a government department.
Under the agreement the Bradda headland, Milner's Tower and Bradda Glen itself would also be offered to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
The deal hasn't been finalised, but Rushen MHK Juan Watterson (pictured) has confirmed the commissioners have said they will sell, for the nominal sum of ?1.
Earlier this year, the local authority announced plans to sell the restaurant because it was financially untenable and had cost the ratepayers ?30,000.
However, its bid was temporarily derailed after Port Erin resident John Maddrell presented a memorial to Tynwald, claiming the commissioners hadn’t consulted ratepayers about the suggestion.
A Council of Ministers Working Group, chaired by Rushen MHK Phil Gawne, has been looking into the options.
Mr Gawne is expected to explain the present position when he appears on Mandate tomorrow morning.
