MLC calls for broader outlook

A member of the Legislative Council believes politicians in the Isle of Man should concern themselves with events on the world stage.

In Tynwald yesterday, George Waft quizzing Chief Minister Tony Brown about the Constitutional Relations Committee of the Council of Ministers.

The committee passes on views on a wide range of issues to the United Kingdom, which represents the Island in diplomatic circles.

Mr Waft (pictured) says it wouldn’t hurt Tynwald to debate international affairs from time to time, even if the last such debate was a number of years ago:
